Wednesdays 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Chair Yoga with Karen

In Chair Yoga we use a gentle style of yoga with most or all poses seated. There is always the option to stand, for some poses, while using the chair as balance if one chooses.

Chair yoga meets the needs of all body types and fitness levels. Chair yoga is a gentle yoga but is an effective method of building strength, stability, flexibility, and mobility. All whilst seated comfortably or standing intermittently using the chair for balance. For example. Mountain Pose done seated, with tall spine against back of chair and feet flat on the floor, shoulders rolled back and down or done standing, tall spine, shoulders rolled back and down, with one hand on a chair for balance

11:00 a.m. to Noon. Hatha/Yin Yoga (known as Yin/Yang) with Karen

Hatha and Yin yoga is a combination of strong standing asanas such a Warrior I and II and restful posture like Child pose or gentle movements like Cat Cow. Hatha yoga is a foundational yoga using the physical postures (asanas) and our breath control (pranayama) to balance body and mind. Hatha employs our muscles to help build strength and stability.

The style of Hatha Yoga classes Karen teaches is for Strength and Stability. Using our breath to assist us through the pose while being aware of your body’s amazing ability as well as its limitations. Karen believes in listening to our bodies in every pose as we build our strength and stamina.

Fridays: 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Chair Yoga with Gillian

As above

11:00 a.m. to Noon. Restorative Yoga with Gillian

The gentle, supported nature of the practice may be especially beneficial for older adults and anyone seeking a gentle approach to support healthy aging, ease stiffness, improve posture and breathing, and promote deep relaxation.

No previous yoga experience is required. This class is suitable for anyone looking for a way to release stress and embrace true relaxation. All poses can be modified to suit individual comfort and mobility.
